Pulcinella Originals
FE 70

Tenor, Bass, 4 Violins, Viola, Cello, Double Bass and Harpsichord. This compilation of all the original baroque pieces which Stravinsky used in his Pulcinella Suite can be used in the same programme, as an interesting comparison, alongside the Stravinsky or as a refreshing alternative in it’s own right.

Haydn - The Battle of the Nile
FE 1006

Arranged for Soprano & String Quintet by Annette Isserlis. The portentous prose of this tribute to Lord Nelson can either be played seriously or for laughs, but Haydn’s music is of a high standard and is beautifully arranged by Annette Isserlis.

The Balfettes Series - Voice and Piano

Michael William Balfe (1808-1870) was very famous in the 19th Century for his operas in English. The Irish singer and composer of “The Bohemian Girl”, “The Maid of Artois” and the incredibly popular Victorian parlour song “Come into the Garden Maud” also wrote two beautiful chamber works, the Piano Trio and the Sonata for Cello and Piano.

The Balfettes Series presents 3 or 4 of the best and most popular songs from his operas. They are grouped in voice types – Soprano, Tenor, Baritone and Bass.
